Overview

Our RT vials contain Reta, an investigational once-weekly peptide that acts on three receptors: GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. It has not been approved anywhere.

This listing is Vita Science RT30 30 mg (30 mg), photographed as we ship it and priced in Canadian dollars.

How it works

Adding glucagon-receptor activity to the two incretin signals is studied for increasing energy use as well as reducing appetite.

Clinical reference

There is no approved dose. Phase 2 trials started low and increased monthly.

Reference information from product labels and clinical literature only. It is not a recommendation or dosing advice for you; any use should be set and monitored by a doctor.

Type the amount from your prescription or clinician; the calculator only converts it. It does not suggest how much to take.

Combinations and interactions

  • Do not combine with SM, TZ or other incretin products.
  • Low blood sugar risk with diabetes medicines.

Risks and side effects

  • Stomach effects. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea were common in trials.
  • Heart rate. Resting heart rate rose in trials.
  • Limited human data. Most research peptides have not been through full clinical trials, so long-term effects are unknown.
  • Sterility. Freeze-dried peptides must be reconstituted with sterile technique; contamination can cause abscesses.

Do not use it if you are pregnant, have had pancreatitis or medullary thyroid cancer.

Bloodwork to discuss with your doctor

  • Fasting glucose
  • Heart rate
  • Kidney function

Injection sites

RT30 30 mg is a freeze-dried powder. After it is mixed with bacteriostatic water it is normally injected under the skin with a short insulin needle. These are the three standard subcutaneous areas; rotate between them.

1AbdomenBelly · Fat under the skinSubQ

Finding it. Anywhere on the belly at least 5 cm from the navel, away from scars and the waistband. Pinch a fold and inject into it.

Why it is used. The most fat, steady absorption and easy to see.

Watch for. Move each injection a few centimetres from the last to prevent lumps.

2ThighFront of the thigh · Fat under the skinSubQ

Finding it. The middle of the front of the thigh, a hand-width below the hip and above the knee.

Why it is used. Easy to reach and a good rotation partner for the belly.

Watch for. Absorption can be a little slower than the abdomen.
